Donald Trump to hold rally at University of Akron

Trump vowed at a campaign rally in Fredericksburg, Virginia, on Saturday to return the Republican Party to the values of President Abraham Lincoln, who issued the Emancipation Proclamation and championed the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution during the U.S. Civil War that led to the abolition of slavery in 1865.

“And his optimistic view about 2020 when he’s running for re-election, that’s pure Donald Trump”, Pence remarked.

And when asked if he is softening his stance on immigration during a Monday night interview with Cleveland television station WEWS, Trump said he was focused on “security” and touted his plan to build a border wall.

Jon Feere, a legal policy analyst with the Center for Immigration Studies, said Republicans generally get only one-third of the Hispanic vote, while Democrats get two-thirds for issues that go beyond immigration.

Meanwhile, Republican officials insist the GOP nominee is finally hitting his stride and will catch up with Democrat Hillary Clinton by early September, following a major shake-up to his campaign.

At a rally in Akron, Ohio, Monday evening, many Trump supporters seemed unfazed by Trump’s potential shift.

“Donald Trump is really becoming unhinged”. “He knows he can’t break up families and round up people on buses to kick them out”. “That’s what it is”, Trump said, prompting the chants of the crowd: “Lock her up, lock her up, lock her up!”

Trump has highlighted crimes committed by immigrants living in the US illegally. “That’s not what he is supposed to be about”.

“We can not make America Great Again if we leave any community behind”, Trump said. “That wall will go up so fast your head will spin”, Trump said.

Clinton is on a three-day fundraising swing across California.

“Tell me, has Hillary Clinton ever apologized for lying about her illegal email server and deleting 33,000 emails?”

Trump’s appeal came the same day a conservative watchdog group, Judicial Watch, released 725 pages of State Department documents, including some it said were examples of preferential treatment provided to donors at the request of former Clinton Foundation executive Douglas Band.
