Mourinho starts his Man Utd’s career with a win
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho praised his side’s display in the 3-1 win over Bournemouth on Sunday, particularly with the “control” they had in large spells, the Daily Star reports.

The midfielder was included in the Manchester United starting lineup for both competitive games under Jose Mourinho.

Juan Mata scored the first league goal of the new era in the 40th minute following an error by Bournemouth captain Simon Francis and Wayne Rooney headed the second just before the hour. Bournemouth got a consolation goal 5 minutes later, with Adam Smith scoring for the hosts.
United’s youngsters – Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford among them – sit with the 34-year-old striker at meal times, looking to extract as much wisdom as they can from one of the superstars of world football.
He said: “With Fellaini, I always have the feeling that he was not loved by the general Red people”. It’s three points against a very hard opponent and I don’t think there’s any doubt we deserved to win. “We weren’t surprised and then we started playing”, Mourinho reflected.
The match was Mourinho’s first Premier League game in charge of United but nevertheless Ibrahimovic arrived as the star attraction on the south coast and the Swede did not disappoint, unleashing a superb long-range strike in the second half.
When asked about the performance of debutants Bailly and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who opened his account with United’s third goal, Mourinho said: “They were very, very good. You have to sometimes accept that you can not control absolutely everything”. “We go into Friday [against Southampton] with a good feeling”. “I’m happy with the team”.
“In August it can be frustrating for players not in the team, because it’s one game a week. We want to fight for the title”. We don’t hide in our words or our approach, so we are going to fight until it’s possible.

“If it’s mathematically not possible one day, we’ll think about top four. But we want more than fine so we want to fight for the title”.
