‘Scoop’ might be Samsung’s itty-bitty Amazon Echo competitor
Samsung Electronics is apparently working on a new Bluetooth speaker which, unlike the usual Bluetooth speakers built by the manufacturer, seems to take advantage of speech recognition technology, indicating that the product could fit in the same category as the Amazon Echo smart speakers. Called the Samsung Scoop, the gadget may be Samsung’s answer to Amazon Echo. The upcoming Google Home smart speaker offers much the same functions by way of the new Google Assistant.

A new portable Bluetooth speaker has been spied making its way through the FCC for certifications.
First noticed by Ausdroid, the speaker is now called “Scoop”.
While the device certainly has a premium look to it, the FCC has offered nothing in the way of specifications to go along with the images.
The age of the wireless, portable and voice activated technology is truly upon us, and everyone wants a piece of it. Undeniably, Amazon started this trend when they released their voice-activated Echo speaker series. The documents even include actual pictures of the device itself enabling us to see Samsung Scoop in all its glory.
Nevertheless, the Samsung Scoop will feature a leather carry strap, a 3.5 mm input audio jack, a microphone for hands-free use, a microUSB charging port and, of course, Bluetooth connectivity.
The manual makes mention of a built-in microphone, though.

It will connect to a mobile device using Bluetooth to play music. Even after being revealed by FCC, it still remains a mystery.
