Ford Recalls Over 88K Vehicles Due to Stalling Problem
Ford Motor Co F.N said on Wednesday it was recalling about 91,000 vehicles in North America to replace faulty fuel-pump parts that could potentially cause a auto to stall without warning. About 77,502 of the recalled vehicles are in the USA, and only vehicles with the 3.5-liter turbocharged engine are affected.

Ford said its dealers will fix the fuel pump control module and power window software issues for drivers for free.
88,151 Ford Taurus, Ford Flex, Lincoln MKS and Lincoln MKT vehicles that are equipped with 3.5-liter gasoline turbocharged direct injection engines are included in one recall; 77,502 of those cars are now in the United States.
The affected Ford Transit vehicles with 3.2-liter diesel engines were all built at the Kansas City Assembly Plant from July 15, 2015, to April 14, 2016.
“If no metallic contamination is present, dealers will replace the fuel injection pump and associated parts”, Ford said. In the case of the second safety recall, Ford tells that 2015-2016 Ford Transit vans need new fuel injection pumps.
-About 23,000 units of the 2017 Ford Escape sport-utility vehicle to recalibrate power window software. “If metallic contamination is present, dealers will replace the fuel injection pump, fuel injectors and fuel filter, and will clean and flush the fuel system at no cost to the customer”.

Ford said is was not aware of any accidents or injuries associated with the issues. The existing configuration may exceed the regulatory limits for remote actuating closing force, increasing the risk of injury. The recall covers certain 2013 to 2015 Ford Escape SUVs and C-Max cars, and 2012 to 2015 Focus cars.
