Seattle and King County officials say they are investigating the park “as per standard protocol” to determine whether everything is properly functioning and well-maintained.

A police report says lifeguards found a man’s body at the bottom of an amusement park pool over the weekend by accident. The friend was going to jump off a “big rock platform” to get into a 10-foot-deep activity pool. Duraipandia told the police that Srinivasan had told him that he might use the nearby water slides. So he went to check “the roller coaster area”.

“During these investigations, we examine the environmental conditions of the facility – including physical structure, equipment and systems – to identify if it is properly functioning and maintained”, Karasz said in an email to KING 5. They also said they’re helping authorities with the investigation, but not providing any additional comment. He had a wife and 3-year-old child.

Srinivasan, his wife and their 3-year-old child moved to the USA from India about two weeks ago for a new job as a computer programmer with Bellevue-based consulting firm Infosys, officials said. The water was too murky to see anything, she said, so she left the waters without finding anything.

In fact, investigators believe the victim may have been underwater for as long as 15 minutes before lifeguards found him. As per the local police record, the drowning occurred “in the heart of the water park”. About 8500 people were present at the theme park on Monday.
