Olympic duo DOUBLE gold haul at Rio
The couple, who live in Chelford, have become the most successful Olympic couple after earning five gold medals between them – adding to the five Golds the pair already had from previous games.

Laura Trott and Jason Kenny claimed two more momentous Gold medals for Great Britain in the track cycling on the last night of Velodrome action in Rio. Britain did not qualify for the seventh, the women’s team sprint.
Trott’s mother Glenda said: “They’ve got a wedding to plan”.
She said: ‘Things like that come with winning gold medals but I just feel like that eight-year-old that started cycling because she absolutely loved it. “I’m proud to be part of the team’s Olympic success and doing my bit”.
“We knew coming here to Rio that the racing wasn’t going to be easy”. It was insane. I had some problems with the bike before, and we tried to fix it, but obviously not enough.
Trott and Kenny’s romance emerged at the London 2012 Games when they were pictured kissing behind David Beckham at the beach volleyball, having each won two gold medals.
Things will be getting even better for the star couple later this year, although Kenny is not sure whether he will carry on to another Olympics or not. I went there without expectations, so to win two gold was just incredible.
While Trott was totally dominant in the omnium, Kenny’s keirin victory was controversial.
The false start was called, but once again no riders were disqualified and the race restarted with a full compliment or riders.
As the riders spun into the final lap Kenny was still not in the lead but the world’s fastest sprinter found another level and burst clear of the rest of the pack just before the line.
Kenny is seen much less in the limelight than some of the other successful cycling Olympians like Hoy or Sir Bradley Wiggins, and is hoping that life doesn’t have too much of a drastic change after his success at the Games. I couldn’t have done it without them, especially my coach Paul Manning who puts up with my crap on a daily basis.
“I think they dealt with the doubt well”.

Dyer insisted that Kenny should be counted amongst his country’s greatest ever sportsmen.
