Pirates, David Freese agree to 2-year, $11 million extension

Fister had a final game score of 80, while allowing three hits in seven innings. “He has a ton of competitiveness in him”.

Pirates: RHP Gerrit Cole (7-8, 3.30) is 0-2 with a 6.48 ERA in his last three starts.

Astros: INF/OF Yulieksi Gurriel grounded out as a pinch-hitter in the eighth a day after leaving his major league debut with right hamstring tightness.

McHugh is 0-4 with a 9.00 ERA in his last five starts.
