Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge Plus to launch today

Not only are the two phones almost identical to look at, they’re the same internally as well. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A packs a powerful Li-Ion 4,200 mAh nonremovable battery, which offers 11 hours of talk time and about 120 hours of music play time. But how do they compare in terms of features and specs?

Apparently Europeans don’t like to multitask.

Despite its 5.7in display, however, it doesn’t come with Samsung’s S Pen stylus which is reserved for the Galaxy Note Range. But wouldn’t a curved display on the Note 5 satisfy both groups? At least, this would seem to be the obvious justification for producing and releasing two phablets in conjunction with one another. Because Samsung, that’s why. The curves are more or less same like the S6 Edge.

In terms of size, the S6 Edge+ is 154x76x6.9mm, making it skinnier than the original S6 Edge despite its upgraded features.

One last thing… Seemingly taking a cue from the late Steve Jobs’ Apple product presentations, Samsung Electronics Co. That’s 1GB more than the normal S6 edge and it’s a little bit faster RAM as well. Although Samsung hasn’t ruled out expanding the reach of the Note 5 to more markets, it won’t happen this year. You can’t win a race you’re not in. The phablet is about to release to particular markets, and US buyers will be able to get their hands on it from August 21.

Which brings us to the Galaxy Note Edge.

Samsung has high hopes for the Note. The edge screen on the S6 edge+ can be used to pin five favourite apps along with contacts.

The Galaxy Note 5 also includes a bit of a throwback: a Blackberry-esque physical keyboard cover that can be snapped onto the phone and sensed by the screen underneath. The S6 Edge+ is naturally somewhat akin to the existing Galaxy S6, with an attractive dual-edged display already winning plaudits from fans of the Galaxy series. Next year’s Unpacked might give us the answers, but it might just throw up even more questions. It was like the moment your first girlfriend repeats the immortal words, “it’s not you, it’s me”.
