The NCAA’s protracted investigation of MS has taken a new twist within the last month – investigators have interviewed players at two or more rival Southeastern Conference schools about their recruitment by the Rebels, multiple sources told Yahoo Sports.
The school has been under investigation for quite some time after the NCAA began looking into violations that included providing improper benefits to a player.
Neither the school nor the NCAA would comment regarding the sources’ revelations.
The NCAA’s been investigating Ole Miss for years, going back to the coaching staff previous to Hugh Freeze.
The players at other schools who were interviewed by the NCAA were granted immunity in exchange for truthful accounts of their recruitment.
NCAA denied WMC Action News 5’s request for comment, citing policy that prevents them from sharing information on current, pending, or potential investigations.
However, it did cause the NCAA to take their investigation into Tunsil, who was drafted 13th overall by the Miami Dolphins, further into the Ole Miss program.
