Brady Ready To Play After ‘Silly Accident’ With Scissors
Brady said he hopes to play in Friday’s exhibition game against the Carolina Panthers.

Bill Belichick has been mum to the media about who will start at quarterback in the Patriots’ preseason games.
He says the accident with the scissors occurred when he was trying to get something out of his cleats and the scissors slipped and cut his thumb. “I learned from it and hopefully won’t be operating any more scissors for a while”.
“Yeah, I let out probably a pretty loud word I wouldn’t repeat in front of my kids”, Brady said. It was a decision the former MVP agreed with.
New England’s soon-to-be-suspended quarterback also missed two days of practice this week, excused from the team for personal reasons. “I don’t think we want to get into a situation early in the season where we’re knowingly doing something or dealing with something on a high-percentage basis that we haven’t even talked about up until that point”.
“Absolutely. I like to be out there every time I get a chance to play”, Brady said. “I’ve always felt like the team is counting on me to be out there, and I’m going to do everything I can to be out there playing”.
With the Patriots’ love of keeping roster decisions quiet until the last minute, we likely won’t know if Brady will play a snap until he either hits the field with his helmet on or when the game is over and he never got under center.
Jimmy Garoppolo didn’t know he was going to start ahead of last Thursday’s preseason win over the Bears.
Brady is eligible to participate in all preseason games and practices, but can’t have contact with the team during his suspension.
Garoppolo said he hasn’t been told who will start Friday night, but his approach hasn’t changed. Brady, entering his 17th season, has done this enough to probably be good to go come Week 5 when he can play again.
NOTES: The Patriots released cornerback E.J. Biggers, running back Donald Brown and defensive lineman Frank Kearse. Brown, a veteran of seven National Football League seasons, was trying to hook on as a backup running back.
So far, Garoppolo is 27-for-39 for 349 yards, one touchdown, no interceptions and a QB rating of 105.6.

Ludicrous as it is on the face of it – especially since Brady is signed through 2019 and Jimmy is up in seven months – adjusting to the reality of someone else squatting down in his huddle may be the hardest part of it all. “I missed everybody, so just getting caught up on everything”.
