“The hard-fought gains that we’ve now seen squandered by this administration in Iraq break my heart because I know the sacrifices that were made”, Pence said.
But pressed on the issue, she said she’d be OK with a change in Trump’s position if law abiding immigrants were screened and required to become “productive members of society”.
Most of those who came to the rally had no reservations about Trump, but said they liked Pence’s political experience and in some cases, his calmer demeanor. “After all, we’re Americans.’ And when Reagan got big government out of the way and lowered taxes, America took off. Donald Trump knows it will again”.
Clinton, he said “does treat people well”.
“Neither did I”, Pence replied, before a reporter asked the barber if this was his “first televised haircut”.
The Indiana governor was addressing about 200 people Wednesday at Charlotte Pipe and Foundry in North Carolina.
Pence, wearing a hard hat and safety glasses, toured the manufacturing portion of the plant, shaking hands with some workers.
Cook said he appreciated the Trump/Pence campaign’s new approach to politics and believes the more reserved Pence “tempers some of the perceived volatility” of the GOP’s firebrand standard-bearer.

The next president will set the course for the Supreme Court in upcoming years through the judges that are appointed, Pence said. But he said the US hasn’t reviewed trade agreements such as the North American Free Trade Agreement to make sure they are fair.
