Cormier explains why he won’t fight Jones, regardless of suspension
Anthony Johnson solidified his spot atop the light heavyweight division Saturday night with a brutal first round knockout of Glover Teixeira at UFC 202 in Las Vegas.

“That is not fear”, Cormier said.
Lesnar was issued a temporary suspension by the Nevada Athletic Commission on Tuesday due to his pair of UFC 200 failed USADA drug tests.
Daniel Cormier had zero control over the circumstances surrounding UFC 200 – and he’s intent on not allowing that situation repeat itself.
UFC 200 was Lesnar’s first fight in the competition for five years after retiring back to the WWE, where his career started, when he lost his heavyweight title and suffered back-to-back losses.
With Jones having managed to once again screw himself over indefinitely, Rumble vs. DC II is basically the only sensical title matchup that the UFC could book, but Dana White, ever the misanthrope, actually has different plan in mind. So if I can get away from that and distance myself from it for a little bit, then I’ll roll back around to it.
In addition to possible punishment from USADA, both fighters could be punished by the Nevada Athletic Commission, which temporarily suspended Lesnar and Jones recently. They’ll try to have the maximum two-year suspension reduced to six months, which would make Jones eligible to fight in early 2017.
Jones, however, has maintained that he did not intentionally ingest any performance-enhancing drugs and it appears both the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, which handles testing of UFC fighters, and the promotion itself may agree with him.
“I’ve not talked to Jon but the guy has got 13 lives man”, White added.
Anthony Johnson and Daniel Cormier are both ready to rematch each other, but UFC president Dana White may have other plans, which include now suspended fighter Jon Jones.
“He feels like he should have to earn his way back, and you know what?”

“Daniel, you the man, baby, but I’m coming for you”, Johnson said after the fight. I think the awful taste Jon has left in everyone’s mouth in regards to his place in the division – it nearly makes him a pariah. “He goes, it’s time to stop coddling this kid, stop giving him things that he doesn’t deserve. We have to go in there and compete against him and we don’t trust him”.
