Chelsea sign Portugal goalkeeper Eduardo
Through the following tweet, released just less than one minute ago, Chelsea announced having signed nearly 34 years old Portuguese worldwide goalkeeper Eduardo dos Reis Carvalho, known as just Eduardo.

The 33-year-old put pen to paper on a one-year deal with the Blues today and will offer competition for Thibaut Courtois and Asmir Begovic.
Chelsea FC have signed experienced stopper Eduardo Carvalho from Dinamo Zagreb.
Eduardo has spent the past two seasons with Croatian champions Zagreb, helping the club into the group stages of the Champions League but now departing for West London to provide goalkeeping cover.
Eduardo is a very competent keeper whose previous clubs include Braga, Genoa and Benfica. Better safe than sorry.
“At the same time I am happy and sad”.
Eduardo told Chelsea’s website: “Having the opportunity to come to the Premier League and to Chelsea, to such a big club, it is an easy decision to make”.
It is extremely hard to envisage a Dinamo comeback in this one, even if Salzburg have yet to win a UEFA Champions League play-off tie in three previous attempts.
“All the colleagues I have always say the dream is to come to the Premier League, where there are the best clubs and the best players”.

Eduardo does take up a foreign spot in the squad, but without needing to worry about the stricter European rules, we’re still on good shape as far that goes.
