Patriots trade for Cleveland Browns ED Barkevious Mingo
For the second day in a row, the Patriots are involved in an unexpected trade.

Well, he’ll show up more now – but on the Patriots defense instead of the Browns.
That’s according to a report from ESPN, which has the No. 6 pick of the 2013 draft headed to New England.
Mingo has been a disappointment as a Brown, racking up only seven sacks in three seasons. Still, the Patriots have struck oil with less talented players than Mingo. It should be noted that three of those seven career sacks came in the first three games of his National Football League career.
The Browns appear to be in rebuilding mode, and after deciding against picking up Mingo’s fifth-year player option, he is set to be a free agent next offseason.
Mingo had just 18 tackles and didn’t record a sack while playing in all 16 games last season.
At the very least, he’s bulked up to play the position. The Patriots are hoping he will provide some additional pass rush. They traded Chandler Jones to Arizona and then saw Rob Ninkovich go down with a torn triceps.

Everyone will point out Bill Belichick is a genius for acquiring another first-round pick and the Browns wouldn’t get the same treatment if they were acquiring Mingo from New England.
