But he did say in the London-based daily that if Corbyn remained party leader, Labour would be unlikely to win the next general election.
“Jeremy has already proved that he is unable to organize an effective team and has failed to win the trust and respect of the British people”. “We can’t afford to spend another moment fighting each other”.

But Mr Corbyn’s campaign team said the Labour leader had helped Mr Khan get elected as London Mayor.
“Yes, we do have to win over some people that have been tempted to vote Tory”.
Mr Corbyn is strong favourite to win the leadership contest on 24 September, thanks to widespread support at a grassroots level.
Labour had campaigned for Britain to remain in the European Union (EU) but Corbyn – the extreme left-wing MP who was elected leader of the main Opposition party in a landslide victory a year ago – was believed to be more inclined towards Brexit despite campaigning for remain.

The Labour leader has said he intends to address the “World Transformed” event, which is being organised by Momentum, the campaign group that is co-ordinating his leadership re-election bid.
What qualifies you to pass judgement on a Labour leader who has, objectively, achieved more in a year than you have in the last eight?
Katie Green, a chair of the campaign of Corbyn’s rival for party leadership, Owen Smith, said: “These kind of violent and deeply offensive remarks make a mockery of Jeremy’s ‘kinder, gentler politics.’ Jeremy should be condemning his comments”. However, preaching to the converted and appealing to the general public are two fundamentally different things.
The Labour MP has said he is “hugely honoured” to have Mr Khan’s backing.
Thousands of Labour members and supporters could be suspended or expelled from the party over allegations of abuse and anti-Semitism, it has emerged.
Mr Corbyn said the pair met every week at Shadow Cabinet meetings, to which Mr Smith responded: “You didn’t say much”.

Corbyn has continuously denied that he failed to strongly campaign for the United Kingdom to remain in the EU.
