Katy Perry Shows Pity for ‘Catfish’ Victim … Shames Flyover States
Katy Perry has some kind words for the man who was tricked into believing he was dating her for six, long years. But Perry, who’s since found out about the episode, is less than amused.

“You know, like, my heart goes out to [Morrill] actually because anybody that’s been fooled like that”, she tells U.S. radio station Sirius FM.
“I’ve been through some tough times throughout the time we’ve been talking the past six years”.
“Yeah, you know, not everyone can be, but I think that, you know, my heart goes out to him, actually”, she said, “because anybody that’s been fooled like that or just you know…”
The 31-year-old also didn’t fault the love-struck Tennessee man, who went as far as to spend a quarter of his savings on an engagement ring for Perry.
Katy Perry has now spoken out for the first time since the episode aired.
In the Catfish episode, the show’s hosts, Nev Schulman and Max Joseph, broke the news to Spencer that he had actually been communicating with a woman named Heather who lives in England. The worldwide pop star, up until recently, did not even know Spencer from Tennessee existed because the “Katy Perry” he was talking to was actually a gal named Harriet, a Canadian woman living over in London.

Now Perry is weighing on this sorry state of heartbreak, as she was asked about it during an interview with The Morning Mash Up Show on Sirius XM. “Like we live on the coast, and we…you know…’get’ stuff in a way that some other people don’t get, and I felt bad for him. So I didn’t really like to indulge in that because my heart, like, would die”. “I can’t change what I did, but I understand that it was really wrong”.
