And former Arsenal midfielder Vieira believes his compatriot can develop even further at Old Trafford, and says he has exactly the right players around him to do so.
New York City manager Vieira told the Daily Mirror: “I’m a massive fan of Pogba”.
Buffon added, “It’s not easy to compare him to greats of the past, but [Pogba] has many details of the games of both Platini and Zidane”. “I think he’s a fantastic player, no doubt about it, but at the same time I believe the Premier League is different, and there will be a lot of pressure on his shoulders because of the price tag and expectation”.
“I try to take all the best of them and make Pogba”.
The France global arrived at Old Trafford on the back of weeks of transfer speculation, joining high-profile signings in Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the off-season.
“Today it’s him. There was another before him and, I don’t know when, but there will be someone else who will be bought for more too”.
Vieira also said he sees similarities between Pogba and himself after watching the youngster’s development.
Manchester United are reportedly set to revive their bid to sign Monaco right-back Fabinho after the Brazilian helped the French side qualify for the Champions League.

The 23-year-old joined United for a world-record £89million fee earlier this month and performed impressively on his debut against Southampton on Friday night, the Manchester Evening News report.
