Executives have, when pressed for viewership data, argued that because Netflix is an ad-free subscription service, ratings are not germane to its business model.

“Stranger Things” has also earned a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, making them one of the best reviews series from 2016.
In spite of its popularity and critical acclaim, the hit Netflix show has yet to be renewed for a second season.
During a recent appearance on “The Tonight Show” the 36-year-old actor admitted his love for “Stranger Things” to the show’s creators.

“Either number, if true, would be great for Netflix, especially since it’s only USA viewing and it’s only for the first 35 days of release”, he said at the Television Critics Association press tour.
