Kenny Hill named starting QB for No. 13 TCU over Sawyer

Former Texas A&M quarterback Kenny Hill has officially been named the starting quarterback at TCU, Horned Frogs head coach Gary Patterson announced today.

Patterson said Hill separated himself from his competition at the position thanks in part to his running ability (he rushed for 156 yards as a sophomore at A&M) and his ability to “get himself out of problems”.

After sitting out a year due to NCAA transfer policies, this will be the first time Hill sees game action since starting for Texas A&M in the 2014 season.

More from Carlos Mendez of the Star-Telegram. But as I told him, our job is just to win. “Put the ball where it’s supposed to be, run the ball when you’re supposed to and get ready to play”. The 6-foot-1, 205-pounder staved off spirited challenger sophomore Foster Sawyer for the right to become Travone Boykin’s heir.

The Horned Frogs open their season September 3 against South Dakota State, an FCS opponent, at Amon G. Carter Stadium in Fort Worth.

He threw for 2,649 yards and 23 touchdowns on nearly 67 percent passing during his stint as the Aggies’ starting quarterback and led the team to a 5-0 start.
