Mark Sanchez falls to third on Broncos’ depth chart
This is obviously good news, as we’ve heard a change from Sanchez to Siemian to Lynch frequently, and it’ll be interesting to see who winds up grabbing the job. It might be all three for 16.

We should look at what the three have done in two preseason games.
“I look like a better guitar player than I am”, Sanchez said in the video.
Paxton Lynch, the Broncos’ first-round draft pick, was the most productive among the three though he has primarily gotten third-team reps in training camp.
“I think a lot of the guys that have been here in years past have learned a lot from No. 18 on what it takes to be a true professional quarterback”, Green added.
And no matter what happens, Kubiak said he does not plan to play all three quarterbacks in the preseason finale at Arizona on September 1.
But Week 3 of the preseason is commonly referred to as “a dress rehearsal” for real football; starters often play the first half and there could even be some game-planning. “Will I? We’ll see”, the coach said. “That’s where I’m going right now”.
There is no way the Denver Broncos end up starting a rookie quarterback. Their defense again seems poised to help them win games, but the promise of another year of lackluster offense takes some shine off the defending champs.
Sanchez, with a respectable effort against the 49ers, would have solidified his spot as the starter, probably starting and playing most of the third preseason game, then sitting out the preseason finale.
“I squandered a great opportunity to separate myself and put the team in a bad situation”. “There’s no excuse for that, poor, poor quarterback play”.
The Broncos will attend a team meeting this afternoon and work in their weight room but will not practice.
I don’t know what Kubiak’s final decision will be when it comes to a starting quarterback for the season opener at home against Carolina. They return to the field Tuesday at Dove Valley.
Siemian began to emerge as the favorite to start months ago, and thus far, may still hold an edge.
Sanchez is the only quarterback on the staff with meaningful regular season experience but he struggled after relieving Siemian on Saturday night.
Starting Lynch in week one against the defending NFC Champion Carolina Panthers-whose defense past year was also among the NFL’s best-would be the epitome of teaching someone to swim by throwing him into the deep end of the pool. Of course he is behind Sanchez and Siemian in the playbook, as Kubiak stated in his postgame presser.
Kubiak had said earlier in the week that he hoped to decide on his Week 1 starting quarterback following Saturday’s game. “I just told you guys that he’s behind the other two from a knowledge standpoint, but we’ve been out there competing every day”.

Just because he carries himself like a seasoned vet, though, doesn’t mean he should be expected to play like one. At the end of the day, it’s your job to protect the ball. “That’s something that coming out of tonight wasn’t good enough”.
