“Modi should first stand accountable to the global community for unending and perpetual atrocities against Kashmiris in the disputed state of Jammu Kashmir, Muslims and Dalits in India”, he stated, further adding, “Balochistan is an integral part of Pakistan and follies of a dictator can not empower the Indian prime minister to speak on our internal issues”.

“While welcoming any UN team that the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights may wish to send to AJK (Azad Jammu and Kashmir), we can not accept equating the rampant human rights violations in IOK (Indian Occupied Kashmir) with the situation in AJK”, Zakaria said.
Deliberations should also focus on denying safe haven, shelters and support to terrorists in Pakistan who have escaped Indian law, Jaishankar said in his letter. “Not just Balochistan, PM Modi also brought up Pakistani bombing of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa to flush out militants of the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan, and human rights violations in Pakistan-administered Kashmir, including Gilgit”, Vij had said.
“We have one standout country in the region which has a different view of terrorism which makes it a hard partner for all of us”, he said.
“While we all agree that we should move forward, it doesn’t always go very smoothly”. Some observers believe the Indian move is a calculated one to help cool down the situation in Indian-controlled Kashmir. UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Zeid Ra’ad Al Hussein in a statement issued in Geneva on Wednesday said it was unfortunate that honest attempts by the UN to independently assess the facts in relation to reports of human rights violations in both Indian side of Kashmir and Pak side had failed. India once again reiterated its tough stand against Pakistan, saying both countries can talk only on terror, not on Kashmir.

Pakistan had sent a note verbale to the Indian high commission on Friday proposing supplies, an offer which the government described as absurd. We will decide on our role at an appropriate time. Frankly, it’s for the benefit of the United States … Pakistan’s then national security adviser, Sartaj Aziz, who was to visit India last August, insisted on meeting Kashmiri separatists, upsetting India, which called off the talks.
