Hazard out to regain title with Chelsea

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte praised the commitment and focus of his players after their 2-1 victory over Watford at Vicarage Road.

Hazard scored his first goal of the Premier League season in Chelsea’s 2-1 win against West Ham at Stamford Bridge in their Premier League opener earlier this month.

The Hornets took the lead through a thunderous strike from Etienne Capoue around the hour mark, only for Michy Batshuayi and Diego Costa to turn things around late in the game.

The Spain global scored an 87th-minute victor as the Blues came from behind to win 2-1 at Watford on Saturday – having also hit the decider late on in Monday’s defeat of West Ham.

Hazard insists that the results are no fluke and that Chelsea have been deserving winners in their opening competitive fixtures, attributing their success to how the players have been applying themselves under former Italy boss Conte.

“We all know Cesc’s quality, he’s a great player but it’s important to understand that we are at the beginning of the season and I am looking for the right balance”.

“This game wasn’t easy because we were 1-0 down”.

“I’m pleased, I’m pleased for Cesc because he’s working very hard in training sessions to show me that he deserves to play”.

Costa is Conte’s spirit animal. I want to see this, that all the players show me they deserve to start the game.

“I am pleased with his attitude”.

“We can hold our heads high”, Mazzarri said. We played very well.

“Like we say in Italy, we complicated our own life”. We have to improve with the ball, keep it better and make use of it.

Most of this we’ve heard before but it’s that first sentence that’s key.

The Spain forward has been twice been booked for dissent and has arguably been lucky to avoid a red card in both of Chelsea’s matches so far this season.
