Taylor can not redshirt in his “three-year window”, Bielema said so would lose his sophomore eligibility and start his Arkansas clock as a junior in 2017 if the NCAA doesn’t clear him for this fall semester. Peavey had participated in limited practice in August while recovering from his injury, but instead of blaming Peavey’s absence on his recovery, Bielema indicated he wanted to see what Ty Storey and Cole Kelley could do. Peavey fell off the radar following his offseason back surgery.

Peavey was competing for the backup job behind Austin Allen, who was named starter back in the spring.

Gunter’s ascension is somewhat a surprise as redshirted freshmen tight ends Gragg and O’Grady, now both on the scout team running season-opening opponent Louisiana Tech’s offensive plays against Arkansas’ varsity defense, were both highly touted out of high school. “He came in and knows the offense, knows where it’s at. Just to have game week get here is a big, big deal”. He’s like our fifth tight end spot.

On injured players “Dominique (Reed) practiced yesterday, DJ (Dean) practiced yesterday”. Today, Dominique had no regression, neither did DJ, so we’ll progress them a little bit further. “T.J. Hammonds practiced and Kody Walker was out there, too”.
