Apple axing the home button on the iPhone 8

Interestingly, this is not the first time that a source has come out to claim that the 10th anniversary iPhone will eliminate the Home button.

Fake: Images of fake “iPhone 6 SE” packaging has been making the rounds online, reports MacRumors.

If you turn your attention towards the printed side of the iPhone 6SE, you can see that a portion of the name is visible.

While it seems unlikely that Apple would brand one of its devices something as clunky as the “iPhone 6 SE” it isn’t out of the question.

This news comes via a Bloomberg report that focuses mostly on a Japan-specific iPhone made to ease the process of using public transit. Sure, there are going to be a lot changes from the inside, but what’s on the outside matters too.

As already mentioned, this notion is not new in any way and has been popping-up repeatedly in the rumor mill amid the craze surrounding this year’s upcoming iPhone 7 announcements. According the report, increased competition from Android handsets has forced Apple to kill off “a premium iPhone 7 model in the second quarter, less than six months before its official launch in September”.

The iPhone 7 is widely rumoured to keep much of the same design. To attract customers, Apple will most likely bundle free Bluetooth headphones with the product package. It appears that the iPhone 7 will be offered in 32GB, 128GB and 256GB. In any event we should find out before too long. Some rumors have claimed this would be added to the device, but they’ve never been as strong as many other leaked features.

Apple iPhone 7 will ship with A10 processor, which will be faster than the now available A9 processor. The former makes little sense given that it implies the handset is an upgrade for the iPhone 6 and not the 6S. But if the source didn’t lie and the prototype obtained the aforementioned scores, then we should expect an impressive performance of the A10 chip.
