Pupils across Denbighshire celebrating “excellent” GCSE results
The school were huge encouraged with the progress of students at all levels in relation to their starting points, with students achieving on average half a grade higher than expectation in every subject.

Overall, 56 per cent of pupils received five or more A* to C grades, including English and Maths.
“83 percent of students achieved a grade C or above in English and 77 percent of students likewise in maths”.
A total of 5,434,597 GCSE results have been issued today, up on last year’s 5,429,478.
Sam, 16, from Lawns, achieved an impressive six A*s and three As while Marcus got the same but with an extra B for good measure.
Mr Cumming added: “These results show that the ethos we have created of determination, ambition and resilience has paid off”.
“I would also like to pay tribute to the county’s schools for their tireless efforts in preparing students for their examinations”.
A Tynemouth school is celebrating its best ever GCSE results.

Another record-breaking feat was that 97% of pupils got at least five grades A*-C.
Niall Green from Farringdon Community Academy who was one of the 23 students which gained more than a grade higher than predicted in all of their GCSEs..
“Many students have worked exceptionally hard to achieve the challenging targets we gave them”.
She said: “I am very proud of them all”. He said: “To be honest, I wanted a couple more A*s particularly in maths but I’m happy with what I’ve got”. I’m going to stay on here and do A-Levels in Maths, Computer Science and Psychics.

Councillor Keren Bender, executive member for education, added: “I congratulate all our learners who achieved well this year, their hard work can not be underestimated”.
