Singh said that the press conference addressed by Shri Rajnath Singh, the Union Home Minister along with the J&K Chief Minister, Ms.Mehbooba Mufti which was witnessed by hundreds of millions of people in the country have left no doubt that peace in J&K is possible only with the imposition of Governor Rule. “What was the fault of the government in this?” she said during a joint press conference with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh at her Fairview Residence.

“Whatever happened in 2010 had a reason”. In 2010 there was a fake encounter in Machil where three civilians were killed. “How is the government to be blamed?” she asked.
The Home Minister’s visit is an effort by the Central Government to restore normalcy in the Valley, which has been reeling under curfew and restrictions since the death of Hijbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Muzaffar Wani on July 8. He said the party conveyed its appreciations towards Centre’s initiative for dialogue with those who believe in ‘Kashmiriyat, Insaniyat and Jamhooriyat’.
According to Kashmir Media Service, he said, “Indian armed forces’ presence swell with each passing day and this is only to break our will but let me make it clear that even if India sends the whole of its army with its full might, we will never yield to their military aggression”. Governments are in place to find a workable solution to at least the immediate problem. The charged mobs attack the security forces and as the second last resort, the forces use pellet guns and as the last resort, when weapons are being looted or government property set on fire – security forces are compelled to open fire, resulting in casualties and causing yet another cycle of violence. Singh said an all-party delegation from New Delhi would visit the Valley soon and pellet guns would also be replaced with an alternative within a week.
In the past, she said vested interests were using terror as a means to target women and curtail education. She claimed that they are not sidelining the issue. “I have saved them from the knives when they were taken for bonded labour”.

Mehbooba asserted, “I am for resolution of Kashmir issue. He had nothing new to offer to the people of Kashmir and even brushed aside what the opposition parties had told the prime minister during a meeting in New Delhi,”.
