Job recruiter says women should hide engagement ring during interviews
Whereas the women in the office will see your diamond as a threat to their diamond (if they have one and if it’s smaller than yours, that is) thus reducing their place in the pecking order of workplace hierarchy. “Behavior includes what you wear to an interview and, whether you like it or not, how you behave on-line”. Apparently, it will make him respect you.

Predictably, Hurwitz’s post was not well-received.
Hurwitz published a follow-up post that related the engagement ring advice to having men avoid wearing expensive watches and made a final post titled, “How to Watch a Viral Article on LinkedIn”, Mashable reports. I will say that I think being a parent, or wanting to be a parent…being married or engaged could show STRENGTHS to employers.
And to anyone concerned that not wearing their engagement ring would be tantamount to lying to their employer, Hurwitz had this to say: “Not wearing an engagement ring is not lying”.
“This might be the single most idiotic article I have read on LinkedIn this year”.
He thinks a sparkling diamond ring will lead to the assumption that a woman is high-maintenance.
Inappropriate questions like, “What does your husband do?” were asked by one well known television producer. Then told me I should because they’re “fun”.
Her experience is super messed up, and it is not uncommon.

I surely can’t be the only one who’s bored of misogynistic people with their heads too far up their own arses continuously disregarding women’s abilities, ignoring their merit and choosing only to focus on superficial aspects when it comes to our careers. When a man gives a woman an engagement ring, he buys the least expensive ring that he believes it will take to get her to agree to the proposal. These women are continuing to fight for equality by advocating for paid family leave, equal pay, equal representation, and combating sexual assault in male-dominated industries. Teaching men (and many women!) to stop applying a double standard to women is the solution.
