Arsene Wenger Won’t Confirm Riyad Mahrez Snub

After winning a fabulous championship, most of the “Leicester” players rested, and probably waiting for the start of the Champions League.

“It is not possible that he can be 100 per cent at the beginning but I was very happy with his job (at Hull)”.

“We spoke together last season and in pre-season and he told me he wanted to stay”. It’s normal other managers look at Leicester players.

“Our owner is very ambitious”. Summer signing Rob Holding was partnered with Calum Chambers at the centre of an Arsenal defence that shipped four goals at the Emirates Stadium. He wants to build something, Jamie wants to, Kasper [Schmeichel], everybody.

Wenger preferred not to discuss whether Mahrez was indeed an Arsenal target, but was more forthcoming about the Algeria international’s obvious talent.

After the 4-3 defeat to Liverpool, Wenger claimed that it was impossible for those players to be fit enough to start the match, but said that the inexperience of the club’s young players cost Arsenal dear.

“He has been outstanding”.

FC’s Mark Donaldson breaks down the best of the social media world, including Leicester City’s Federation Internationale de Football Association 17 player ratings.

Leicester saw summer signing Nampalys Mendy limp off early in the second half, but then went close when Riyad Mahrez’s free kick zipped just over the crossbar.
