We recently spoke to Eazy E’s daughter E.B. Wright, who has a new EP, We Want E.B., coming out in late September.

“I don’t know if I can say it”, Sarkisian said when asked what his favorite song was from the Dr. Dre-co-produced film, which chronicles the Compton hip-hop group N.W.A.

The studio declined to comment on whether or not its “support” meant reimbursement for theaters of the cost of increased security measures, and declined comment on which theaters requested the support.

The timing of its release – which falls around the one-year anniversary of the Michael Brown shooting and protests in Ferguson, Missouri – has also been a talking point. Taking us back to where it all began, the film tells the true story of how these cultural rebels-armed only with their lyrics, swagger, bravado and raw talent-stood up to the authorities that meant to keep them down and formed the world’s most risky group, N.W.A.

In the new NWA biopic, “Straight Outta Compton“, the role of Cube is played by his son, O’Shea Jackson Jr, and he’s backed his son for the part, despite having not grown up in the ghetto. Producers are original N.W.A members Ice Cube and Dr. Dre, along with Tomica Woods-Wright, Matt Alvarez, Gray and Scott Bernstein.

The Cinemark theater in Pittsfield Township is upping security for the release of the movie “Straight Outta Compton” this weekend, police said. “It’s from the 90’s so they just finally making a movie out of it-giving these guys recognition globally as a group…I feel like that’s stereotyping [the African American community”, said Eric Johnson.

“I really think that they nailed the feeling, the style, the emotion in the movie”.

He says Carmike also pulled it from more than 25 theaters across the country.

The movie is expected to finish the weekend with over $40 million, despite its lack of star power.
