Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp “not interested” in Alberto Moreno criticism

Liverpool did not have a good day against Burnley as a flat Merseyside team ended up losing 2-0 to the newly promoted side.

“Usually, in a game like this, you win if you don’t make mistakes at the wrong moment but we did”.

“At this stage I don’t know if he will be available for the weekend but I don’t think he will be out for a long time”.

The German also insisted that he has no need to be angry with his players when cool analysis of the moments that cost them against the Clarets is needed. Will I spend? I don’t know.

“It’s a big task, you’ll hear me say that all season, we’ll have to play well”. It’s how it is with all other positions – we would’ve found the flawless fit with all the things around, it’s not about money, only about playing style, defending skills, offensive skills and technical skills.

Discussing the reasons for the defeat, he added: “The whole game is explained by the two goals”. Klopp said. “When we gave away the first goal they defended for their lives”.

“It’s pretty possible, and hopefully it stays like this, that I have to make on Friday really hard decisions because no-one has given me a sign that they don’t want to be involved”. That’s what I’m thinking about, not what other people want me to think about.

“I think there is a lot of belief there now and a lot of fight”, he said, albeit before Saturday’s game.

Burnley had one corner and Liverpool had 12, even if one of those – from Adam Lallana – was one of the worst from a Liverpool player in the last couple of years. We have to accept it. And obviously on Saturday we deserved a defeat.

We lacked steel in midfield at Turf Moor, and lost 50/50s that we’d hope Can would have fared better in.

“It takes concentration and focus from the players to see through that and see they’re not hurting us that much and that we will have breakaways and counters”.

“I don’t like it”. I really respect this.

“I was not angry at half-time, because it makes no sense then”.

Jamie Carragher believes Jurgen Klopp needs to sign a natural defensive midfielder to improve his Liverpool side. “But I’m not just angry because”.
