The 2015 Tennis Magazine season preview cover girl, however, faded into mediocrity previous year and became better known for her modeling and endorsement contracts than for her play.
“I think that was an important game because the score difference between 3-2 and 4-1 is pretty big and even though I was down 0-40 I was serving I just told myself to keep fighting on every point, and I still believed I had a chance to win that game”.
Kvitova advanced Monday night with a 1-6, 6-1, 6-3 win over American Louisa Chirico.
Looking to join Venus Williams and Caroline Wozniacki as a four-time victor in the tournament, Kvitova overpowered the Olympic doubles champion, breaking her four times. She won the next two before seeing the 15th world racket settle his case with a breakages, his sixth of the confrontation.
Flipekns, to her credit, fought back and took Radwanska into the ninth game tied at 4-4. “And now I’m in quarterfinals, for the first time, so I’m so happy”. But I thinking always about my pain, and I lost.
Victor of three Connecticut Open titles as she prepares to battle Radwanska for a spot in decider, Kvitova said: “It’s always nice coming somewhere when you feel, you know, at home and you know you can play well. I will try my best for tomorrow”.
Radwanska looks comfortable out there and is hitting the ball with confidence, but she did have a lot of tape on her shoulder, so there may be some nicks and bruises to worry about.
“It always helps to play many matches and to play good tennis”, Larsson said. It suits her game.
“That’s my game”, Kvitova said.

All attention was on the Canadian at the start of the second set. I know that she’s a shot-maker. “She’s not playing really with the power, but she’s very smart with the good touch”. “It’s just going out there, just being strong mentally, think about the next point, think about the tennis”. “But it’s never easy”.
