Allen saidA Tennessee prosecutor says two men are charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy who shielded two girls from the gunfire.

According to WLTV News, Christopher Bassett and Richard Williams were charged Thursday with one count of first-degree murder and eight counts of attempted first-degree murder and are now being held on a $1 million bond.

The indictment includes charges of first-degree murder and eight counts of attempted first-degree murder.

Allen did not take questions.

Bassett, 20, was arrested the night of the shooting and investigators say he told police that he was with Brandon Perry, as they shot at random victims in retaliation for a gang-related shooting earlier in the night that wounded Perry’s mother.

They are being held on $1 million bond.

“The Dobson Family would like to thank everyone who has assisted us with bringing justice to our family, said a kind word, made a sweet gesture or a compassionate phone call during our grieving process”.

Police said in January that they were looking for a third suspect.

Bassett has been in jail since shortly after the shooting after being charged with being a felon in possession of a handgun and violating probation for previous firearms, theft and drug convictions.

Dobson’s brother said it was the teenager’s dream to be a football player or a coach.

A few hours later, Perry was shot and crashed Bassett’s BMW into an apartment building.
