Apple to ditch Home button from iPhone in 2017

The FeliCa chip will let customers in Japan store their public bus and train passes on their iPhones. Touch ID, which analyzes a fingerprint to ensure the owner is actually using it, is the foundation for the company’s Apple Pay mobile payments service. So obviously, rather just target a smaller market, it makes sense for Apple to jump on the bigger bandwagon. And Apple may finally have the technology to act upon its plan and remove the redundant and problematic home button.

The terminals handled ¥4.6 trillion (US$45.78 billion) in transactions a year ago. So get on top of things, New York MTA – transit cards may already be meeting their demise overseas, so we can’t possibly be that far behind, right?

In theory, users would be able to store virtual transit passes in the Wallet app on their iPhones, according to the anonymous source. Transit service providers acquire access from card companies as and when needed, or monthly. Apple might release a third model next year, too, alongside the standard iPhone and the Plus version. Yuanta Investment Consulting analyst Jeff Pu believes we’ll see about 10 million fewer iPhone 7 builds than we did of the 6s past year, which also caused a fairly significant shortage around the launch period. A series of leaked images show the retail packaging of what appears to be the box of an iPhone, and the printed area might show a lot of text, but nowhere does it show the name “iPhone 7”.

Bloomberg reports that “Apple Inc.is planning a new iPhone feature for Japan that will enable users to pay for mass-transit rides with their smartphones instead of physical payment cards”. Such date is closer to that of previous iPhone releases, such as the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus pre-orders which started on September 12 while their arrival among retailers began on September 19. The controversial decision to eliminate the headphone jack has been a major topic of discussion ever since the rumors began to crop up late last year, and coupled with the fact that we’re nearly certainly going to have to wait until 2017 for a significant redesign, many iPhone fans are especially curious about what exactly Apple has in store for this year.

The fait of the home button, at this point, is pretty unclear.

Apart from there is another shocking pieces news regarding upcoming iPhone voters has also been seen on the Internet. One such speculation claims the anniversary iPhone will bring a major redesign to the front panel of the phone, going for an all-display approach and ditching the signature home button in the process.
