Trump, Clinton spar over who is best for minority voters
It’s a conspiracy: The 2016 campaign features one candidate who warned against the “vast right-wing conspiracy” and another who was a leader of the so-called “birther” movement.

Hillary Clinton is ready to call out Donald Trump and his advisers for embracing a “disturbing alt-right” political philosophy that her campaign says presents “a divisive and dystopian view of America”.
On Thursday, Trump criticized Clinton before her speech, saying she and her party had let black Americans down with failed economic policies and were falsely labeling Republicans as bigoted.
A man with a long history of racial discrimination, who traffics in dark conspiracy theories drawn from the pages of supermarket tabloids and the far reaches of the internet, should never run our government or command our military.
More recently, the Trump campaign hired the CEO of far-right publication Breitbart News, which Clinton accused of propagating “an emerging racist ideology known as the ‘alt-right.'” This “de facto merger between Breitbart and the Trump Campaign represents a landmark achievement for the alt-right”, she said.
The current CNN battleground map gives Hillary Clinton 273 electoral votes from states that are either solidly or leaning in her direction compared to 191 electoral votes for Donald Trump in states that are solidly or leaning in his direction.
Among registered voters surveyed August 23-24, 64 percent said that presidential candidates should release medical details, an increase from 55 percent who said so in May.
Donald Trump confronted head-on allegations that he is racist on Thursday, defending his hard-line approach to immigration while trying to make the case to minority voters that Democrats have abandoned them. She also portrayed it as being part of a larger personality that often appears borderline unstable, and is in no way equipped to be chosen for the most important job on earth.
Clinton released a video on Thursday ahead of her Nevada speech tying Trump to white supremacist groups, including the Ku Klux Klan.
Mrs. Clinton is ahead in most polls but not almost as far as you might think.
“We will reject bigotry and hatred and oppression in all of its many ugly forms”, Trump said at a campaign rally in Wisconsin last Tuesday. Clinton famously called her husband’s opponents part of a “vast right-wing conspiracy” and her family has always been central to a cottage industry of sordid tales about her husband and family. But her health has remained front-and-center.
Instead, she offered a strident denouncement of Trump’s campaign, charging him with fostering hate and pushing discriminatory policies, like his proposed temporary ban on Muslims entering the United States. “Hillary Clinton’s short speech is pandering to the worst instincts in our society. Short circuit”, he said at a Florida rally earlier this month.
The catalyst for the visit was likely for campaign donations – $1.2 million reportedly was raised – rather than shoring up support; Trump leads Hillary Clinton in the Magnolia State by 15 points, according to a recent (probably Kellyanne Conway-approved) poll by Y’all Politics.
The former secretary of state addressed questions about her use of a private server only in passing this week, joking with late night talk show Jimmy Kimmel on Monday that, “My emails are so boring”, she said. The 154 does not include US federal employees or foreign government representatives.

Final thought. When you can, go to RealClearPolitics.com and look at the state polling results, not the national. Her campaign has a page on its website devoted to a Q-and-A about Trump’s “bizarre relationship” with Russian Federation, fueling an unproven theory that Trump is a shill for Putin.
