Angela Blackwell is accused of putting her her four-day-old son, William in a refrigerator.

Blackwell and her partner have another son who’s 3 year old.
According to the county coroner, the child died the same day of hypothermia. She only sought medical help after removing him from the working fridge.
The infant was taken to a hospital where doctors pronounced the baby dead. Chief Deputy Robert Sprouse says Blackwell was expected to have a bond hearing on Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2016, at the Chester County jail.
The child’s father, Jeff Lewis, told WSOC that 27-year-old Angela Renee Blackwell didn’t kill their son. She was denied bond at her court appearance Tuesday.
“We have authority to investigate all child deaths in the state under our child fatality unit”, SLED spokesman Thom Berry said.
Billy Lewis said there were multiple people staying in the home the night before William died, including two children that Blackwell’s sister was babysitting. It is not clear if she had retained an attorney. “Initially, we did not know why the body was so cold”.
If convicted, she faces 20 years to life in prison.
Speaking to Channel 9, a tearful Mr Lewis called his common-law wife “a good mom” and said he did not think she hurt their child.
Blackwell is now being held at Chester County Jail. Neighbors say the house stood out like a sore thumb in the area, but no one really was friendly with the occupants of the house.

Records show 35-year-old Jeffery Paul Lewis has convictions in SC dating back to 2005 arrests for petit larceny and shoplifting. They believe another young child, who has autism, put the baby in the refrigerator.
