Joe Hart back in Manchester City’s starting line-up to face Steaua Bucharest

Hart was restored to the City starting XI for the first and most likely last time under Pep Guardiola, who has preferred Willy Caballero in goal during the opening weeks of the season and sanctioned a move for Claudio Bravo, with the Chile global expected to seal his move from Barcelona before the end of this week.

Guardiola said: “I can not deny what everybody knows”. The Spaniard said Hart had “a chance” of being selected, and rubbished suggestions he and the England global had fallen out.

Everton’s refusal to pay all of Hart’s £135,000-a-week wages proved to be the main stumbling block in negotiations and Guardiola acknowledged that off-loading big earners is proving a problem.

“I think Sergio is a great striker, everyone knows that”, the UAE 2013 FIFA Under-17 World Cup victor was quoted by ESPN FC as saying on Tuesday ahead of their return leg UEFA Champions League second leg fixture against Steaua Bucharest at home on Wednesday”.

“We had 28 players in the training session”, he added.

He said: “We were more organised but the difference was the hugely valuable players City have”.

He said: “I have an excellent relationship with Joe”.

Barcelona were the first ones who announced contact with Manchester City but, sorry, the deal is not complete. That is why I insist with the players how important this process is.

According to the rumours, Guardiola has agreed a €16 million deal to sign Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo.

Pep Guardiola has warned his Manchester City players to heed the lessons of AC Milan’s 2005 Istanbul capitulation against Liverpool to avoid being embarrassed by Steaua Bucharest in tonight’s Champions League Play-Off second-leg. We spoke about football.

Bravo has impressed during his stint at Barcelona and will take on a more active role in distributing and dictating play from in behind the City backline. “I am not able to speak about negotiations”.

We’ll also be showing the game – which will air on BT Sport 2 and kicks off at 7.45pm – on the ever-popular BT Sport app, which has undergone a comprehensive makeover for the new season.

“We have a huge advantage but we will not play thinking it’s done”. They didn’t press high, they stayed back – we have to play it to open up spaces and in the second half, we were much better.
