Progress levels were also high at St Bernard’s Grammar School, as 60 per cent of students achieved an A* or A grade.

52 per cent of students also bagged the English Baccalaureate and 86 per cent of students got either an A* or A grade in Further Science.
But in Haringey the number of students getting the best English marks rose to 74 per cent and in maths to 70 per cent – increases of nine and three per cent.
Hylands School in Writtle consolidated its upward trend in results with five A*-Cs including English and maths at 54 per cent.
Councillor Clare Feeney-Johnson, Cumbria County Council’s Cabinet Member for Schools and Learning, said: “My congratulations go to all the students in Cumbria, who have received examination results today”.
“We are also very proud that Aled Wathan, Tom Osborne, Jamie O’Brien and Ethan Young were rewarded for their exceptional hard work with crucial C grade passes in maths and English”.
She said: “We have some fantastic results from different subject areas with 77 per cent of students gaining A* to C grades in English language”.
We did very well at the top end, with 37 per cent of all GCSEs being marked A* or A. That figure should put us in the top 50 non-selective state schools in England, based on last year’s data.
Nearly 19% of entries produced the top A* and A grades, while the overall GCSE pass rate, where students are graded from A* – G, was 98.7%.
Official government data past year named The Blue Coat School in Liverpool as the top performing state school in the country, closely followed by Colyton Grammar School and Kendrick School in Reading.
Altogether, the school reported a positive Progress 8 score, with around 30 pupils achieving a whole string of top grades.
DESPITE the BBC reporting “the biggest ever year-on-year decline” in this year’s GCSEs, Warminster School pupils celebrated strong results.

He added: “I am so proud of our city’s pupils for their achievements as individuals and as a city cohort”. I honestly thought I’d failed five of these and got some Bs in some of the others.
Alex achieved three A* and five As, Harvey achieved 11 A* and one A grade, while Jacob achieved four A grades.
