These will be the last set of results for the school as it prepares to merge with Heathfield Academy to create the Heath Lane Academy, an all-through 11-19 age school, which opens on Tuesday August 30.
RELIEF has come today for numerous students at Marlwood School in Alveston as they celebrate collecting their GCSE results.
“The students’ results are really incredible and we have 70 per cent of our students achieving A*-C grades”.
David will now go on to study Spanish, history, French and biology at AS Level with the hope of studying French and Spanish at University.
“I am going to have a takeaway with friends to celebrate”. “Early indications would suggest that we have done well on the new Progress 8 measure of success, which judges a school across a broader range of subjects, and this is a great outcome for the students and the school”.
“It was hard but I’m glad I did it because there are more opportunities living here”, he said.
Head Olivera Raraty said: “This is an outstanding set of results for our very talented girls and I am delighted for both them and our dedicated staff”.
He said: “Our GCSE students have excelled themselves this year, making more progress during their time at Tewkesbury School than their predecessors”. The school is enormously proud of their achievements.
“I was pretty nervous before today, I’m glad it’s all over now”.
Jessica Wilson (one A*, six As and five Bs), Natalie Roper (one A*, four As, five Bs and one C) and Stephanie Davison (two A*s, four As, four Bs and two Cs) were among those to do particularly well. They are a reflection of their commitment, as well as the dedication of the staff at the school, who have worked with them.
