Shkodran Mustafi flies into London for medical ahead of £35m Valencia switch
We finally got a deal agreed for the German global yesterday and BBC journalist David Ornstein has taken to Twitter to say that Mustafi will undergo his medical in London today before signing a five-year contract.

He likely will be a back-up to Olivier Giroud up front, with Wenger having failed with bids for Leicester’s Jamie Vardy and Lyon’s Alexandre Lacazette.
“It looks like it will be frenetic in the last three days, everyone has sat on their money but we know they will all splash out now”.
He also inisted that he didn’t buy Perez and Mustafi just to appease the fans, but he’s glad they are happy about it (well some of us anyway lol!) “I’m happy when our supporters are happy. I am 99 per cent confident”, he said.
“He is a late developer, he played in a different position before”, said Wenger, explaining why Perez has only once scored 10 league goals in a season. I have a decision to make in the next 24 hours.
Asked if bringing in Mustafi and Perez would conclude Arsenal’s business in Europe’s summer transfer window, Wenger said “we already have a big squad. and we can’t have any more players”. “We have a requested number, and we can’t have any more players any way”.
The Frenchman may trim his squad temporarily with a loan move for defender Calum Chambers, who started alongside Holding in the defeat by Liverpool. “If we get it done we get what we wanted”. “We don’t want teams getting away from us. Watford is going to be another tough game because every game is this season”.
Mazzarri was left fuming following his side’s midweek 1-2 League Cup shock loss to third-tier Gillingham.
“When I spoke to the president he gave me a three-year contract”, said Mazzarri.

An important caveat is that both of the players sold right at the end of their respective transfer windows – Albert Luque for £10m in 2005 and Xisco for £6m in 2008 – went to Newcastle United, a club which has rarely been considered a beacon of good planning and management.
