HUNDREDS of exceptional grades were achieved this morning as William de Ferrers School students achieved over 500 A grades in their GCSE results.

Ponteland High School headteacher Kieran McGrane said: “These results are incredibly pleasing and truly reflect the hard work and effort on the part of our brilliant students and committed staff”.
MORE than 60% of GCSE students at The Heath School in Runcorn achieved five A*-C grades including English and maths.
52 per cent of students also bagged the English Baccalaureate and 86 per cent of students got either an A* or A grade in Further Science.
The top ten performers shared more than 81 A* and A grades between them.
The percentage of students achieving five or more GCSE’s including English and maths has also risen significantly to 48 per cent.
Santa Svike – 1 A*, 9 As and 2 B grades.
The 16-year-old said: “It is such a relief to know what we’ve got and I’m now going to go to sixth form at Beechen Cliff”.
Twenty students achieved at least eight A/A* grades, including Ophelia Hornsey, who under the government’s new Progress 8 measure achieved the highest progress score in the school.
She said: “I was really relieved when I opened my results because I’d been panicking about them”.
Mr Taunt added, “As a school we enjoy working with young people”.
