Rio Olympics 2016: Commentator faces backlash from sexist remarks
The 24-year-old was second in the opening scratch race and won the individual pursuit and elimination race – a discipline which has become her trademark – to lead on 118 points.

Trott won by a commanding 24 points, while the gap between second-placed American Sarah Hammer and Belgium’s Jolien D’Hoore in third was just seven points.
“I think it was the right decision to put everyone back in, obviously I was happy to be put back in”, Kenny said. It’s an event she loves and everyone else ducks for cover and needs a lie down in a dark room afterwards. The keirin race had to be stopped twice after riders were adjudged to have passed the derny pace bike before it had left the track.
It was his third triumph in Rio, having won in the team sprint and the men’s sprint.
Britain’s Trott romped to victory in the women’s track cycling omnium on the Rio boards on Tuesday, leaving her rivals trailing in her tyre tracks and scrapping for podium places.
“At my first Olympics in Beijing I knew we had something special to build on”, said Kenny.
Taking the Olympic title in the keirin – which was delayed by two dramatic false starts – followed fiance Laura Trott winning her fourth gold just over an hour earlier.
A photo of U.S. swimmer Joseph Schooling meeting his inspiration, the record-breaking Michael Phelps, went viral this year after Schooling BEAT him to the gold medal in the Men’s 100m butterfly – and set an Olympic record in the process. “It felt like a dream”.
Meanwhile, 16-year-old gymnast Amy Tinkler – Team GB’s youngest athlete – won bronze in the women’s floor exercise final. I was so exhausted I was floating through it.
After she had secured her gold medal ahead of British riders Becky James and Katy Marchant, she struck a more conciliatory tone.
“Clearly one nation moved ahead of the rest and made some pretty significant gains in a short period and we weren’t able to match that”.

Between them Kenny and Trott have won five gold medals at the Rio games and are one of British power couples after adding to their medal haul from the London Games four years ago. “I didn’t expect that at all, that it all came together”.
