Hillary Clinton Used File-Clearing Software BleachBit. Is That Proof of Wrongdoing?
The State Department says it is reviewing almost 15,000 previously undisclosed emails recovered as part of the FBI’s now-closed investigation into the handling of sensitive information that flowed through Hillary Clinton’s private home server.

Powell entered the national spotlight last week after it was reported that Clinton told FBI investigators during her July 2 interview that the former secretary of state advised her during a 2009 dinner party to use a personal email account. Judge William Dimitrouleas of the U.S. District Court said Thursday that the new emails must be released to Judicial Watch by September 13. This order was in response to Judicial Watch’s request, as it is now suing the State Department for the release of Clinton’s records.
The State Department review the new emails provided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and then decide which ones can be released – that is, which are deemed to have been work-related – and whether any information should be withheld or redacted for security reasons. The second disc is labeled as emails containing classified information.
The order is limited to documents related to the Benghazi attacks.
“Meeting with foreign leaders is, by definition, the role of the secretary of state”, a Clinton spokesperson responded in a statement. She said that she told Conason that Powell discussed his use of personal email as secretary of state during an email exchange with Clinton.
Some of the emails were found on the servers of people with whom Clinton or her staff was communicating.
All three companies either sold products used in Clinton’s email server or were hired to maintain it, Smith said in the subpoenas. She later apologized, saying: “I take responsibility”.
After a year-long investigation, FBI Director James Comey said last month that Clinton should have recognized the sensitivity of the information and that she had been “extremely careless” with government secrets. As a result, her email was far from secure. The conversation occurred in 2009, the Times said, citing a forthcoming book by journalist Joe Conason that first reported the dinner exchange.
Clinton has said about 30,000 deleted emails were personal in nature.
“As deputy head of state, the crown prince has and will continue to meet with USA officials to address matters of mutual interest in the future”, the statement said.
