India’s Modi goaded Pakistan in deliberate yet risky move

Relations between the two countries have got intensified with India accusing Pakistan of stoking unrest in Kashmir, where 68 people have died in seven weeks of violent street protests that erupted after the encounter death of a Hizbul Mujahideen militant in July.

In his response, Jaishankar said New Delhi has conveyed that the Indian government seeks result-oriented dialogue on the subject, Swarup confirmed.

In a letter to his Pakistani counterpart Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry, Foreign Secretary S. Jaishankar said, not only India but the entire region is aware that Pakistan is actually prime perpetrator of terrorism.

“He (Jaishankar) hoped that the government of Pakistan will reconsider its approach and shows sincerity towards promoting good neighbourliness and peaceful co-existence”.

“I would like to confirm that the Foreign Secretary has indeed responded to his Pakistani counterpart’s letter of August 19 regarding Jammu and Kashmir. A recent example of Pakistan’s policy is the apprehension of Lashkar terrorist Bahadur Ali”, he said.

Eighty innocent Kashmiris have lost their lives and seventy thousand others injured at the hands of ongoing brutality of Indian forces in occupied Kashmir lately, he apprised the visiting members.

The Adviser to the Pakistan Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz, briefed the Ambassadors of the Permanent Members of the UN Security Council (China, France, Russia, UK and USA) and the European Union in Islamabad on Friday over the killings and serious human rights violations being committed by the Indian occupation forces in the Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IoK).

At his regular media briefing, India’s external affairs spokesman Vikas Swarup forcefully drove home this point asserting: “Providing support, safe havens and sanctuary to terrorists and making the distinction between good terrorist and bad terrorist has posed enormous risk to peace and stability to our region”.

India is involved in grave human rights violations, adviser Aziz brought it to the notice of esteemed guests from P-5 and European Union countries. “Pakistan welcomes the UN’s offer and would be ready to engage in a dialogue to resolve the Kashmir dispute”, Sartaj said.
