Tom Brady returned to the New England Patriots on Tuesday, and the quarterback kept a tight lip for why he received an excused personal absence while also explaining his scissors mishap that prevented him from playing against the Chicago Bears last Thursday.

Garoppolo is clearly the most talented backup/next Brady the team has ever had, and although he’s no “Tom Terriffic” (who is?), he can be an National Football League starter somewhere. I feel like that’s what my job and responsibility is to be out there with my team. You just have to go about your business the same way. As for if he wants to play in Friday’s preseason game at Carolina, Brady said, “Absolutely”. I wanted to go and coach said its probably best if you for what I was gonna to go out and do just take it easy.

Although he’s not sure if he’ll get the start or how long he will play Friday (7:30 p.m.; Ch. 4), Garoppolo said he will continue to prepare as usual.
