Spears is now in the headlines as she promotes her new album Glory, appearing on James Corden’s Carpool Karaoke this week and poised to guest at the MTV VMAs for the first time in nine years on Sunday.

Britney Spears – Britney will be performing on the VMAs stage for the first time in nearly a decade. “ALL TIME. The “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction”/ “Oops!… She’s about to release her fifth album since that performance, all four made the U.S. top 5, two topped the charts. Britney stepped away from the show for the next 3 years, only to return in 2007 with a performance that gave viewers more chills than the snake. Flannigan says Britney’s performance of her latest hit “Make Me” will be “unprecedented”. The outfit, the hair, even the dance moves were not the quality we had come to expect. This is also the first time Britney won a VMA after 16 nominations. Or when Kanye West interrupted Taylor Swift with the now classic ‘I’mma let you finish, but…’ refrain.
One of the anticipated planned moments includes Rihanna receiving the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award.
The VMAs pre-show will also feature stellar performances from Alessia Cara, Jidenna and Lukas Graham who will take to a makeshift stage outside of Madison Square Garden in New York City. Probably not. She’s toned things down in her performances lately, in terms relative to Britney.

Then she calls the song “so 2000” and instructs him to play her new album Glory instead.
