Jerry Jones: Ezekiel Elliott’s pot shop visit ‘not good’

The video did not show Elliott purchasing any pot. While it appears as though Elliott was just checking out the merchandise and not sampling it, his owner, Jerry Jones, is not pleased.

Although Elliott played well in limited playing time – 48 yards on seven carries – his solid preseason debut was soon overshadowed by a video posted on TMZ, where the Cowboys rookie was spotted at a marijuana dispensary mere hours before Dallas was scheduled to take on the Seattle Seahawks.

“Well, I think that in and of itself the reason we are talking about is in a way part of the learning process”, Jones said after the Cowboys’ 27-17 loss to the Seahawks.

One fan was filming in marijuana shop “Herban Legend” and he seemed to scan over the crowd and see the Cowboys rookie browsing around the store. It’s just not good.

According to a report from ESPN, the National Football League appears “disinclined” to get itself involved in the issue, as Jones’ comments may have been punishment enough for Elliott. I heard the report, and I would know how he is. He apparently didn’t make any purchases, which is a good thing because marijuana, despite being legal in the state of Washington, is still on the list of substances banned by the NFL. “And he needs to look at that”.

Elliott meanwhile is reportedly under investigation by authorities in Columbus, Ohio over an allegation of domestic violence made by a former girlfriend.
