Olympic golden boy Andy Murray to tackle Marin Cilic in Cincinnati final
He said: “I think I’m playing my best tennis just now”.

On Friday night the Brit beat Bernard Tomic 6-4, 6-4 to reach the semis, before defeating Raonic 6-3, 6-3 on Saturday. “But it’s different come match time, so I did a little bit of studying”.
“And because I’ve won a lot the last few months, that’s something that has been good, especially this week for sure”.
Murray, who previously won this tournament in 2008 and 2011, beating Novak Djokovic on both occasions, told atpworldtour.com “I didn’t get broken the last couple of matches and when I was in hard situations I made good choices”. “I didn’t feel too exhausted yesterday in the evening”. Let’s try and get through as many matches as we can.
This will be the second match between the two in a final, the first being in 2013, also at Queen’s, with Murray winning in three sets. Raonic’s improvement began to cause Murray to struggle with his serve as he was forced to save a break point to eventually keep his lead to 4-2.
Murray claimed his second SW19 title in straight sets although Raonic was by no means disgraced and put on an excellent display at the All England Club.
“That is not a formula of success by any means”.
The No.12-seeded Croatian didn’t get to bad until 4 A.M. after his three-set semifinal triumph over Grigor Dimitrov, but Cilic navigated a quick turnaround and sailed past a red-hot Andy Murray in the Western and Southern Open final, 6-4, 7-5.
Marin Cilic dominated Fernando Verdasco 6-3 6-1 and will play the sixth seed Tomas Berdych, a 6-3 7-6 (7/4) victor against Marcel Granollers.
The match is to be Cilic’s first Masters 1000 final on his 71st attempt. “I’m looking forward to a few days rest now”, the world number two added.
Murray will bid for his 13th career Masters title and overall the 40th of his career, fifth of 2016.
The Spaniard partook at the recently-concluded Games, where he won the men’s doubles gold before going down fighting in the bronze-medal playoff of the singles event.

The 4-6 5-7 loss brought to an end a 22-game run – the longest undefeated stretch of the Scot’s career – and was Murray’s first reverse since the French Open final in June.
