Shouldn’t the Clinton Foundation Stop Accepting Foreign Donations Now?

Mook attempted to direct attention instead to the financial connections that Donald Trump has to foreign companies, pointing to a New York Times report that showed at least one building partly owned by Trump had a loan owed in part to the Bank of China.

And it’s even sweeter than that, too, because with the message, she included a vintage photo from the couple’s wedding day, showing off just how far they’ve come after so many years together. It was founded to create “social enterprises that help people lift themselves out of poverty”, according to Clinton charity filings. She is spending most of the week fundraising, with several high-dollar events in California.

Trump has talked of a 2009 series of emails that showed Douglas J. Band, a chief adviser to Bill Clinton, seeking to arrange a meeting between a senior us government official and Gilbert Chagoury, a Lebanese-Nigerian developer and foundation donor. Doesn’t the Clintons’ belated decision tacitly concede that was a mistake? That was readily apparent Monday, as both Trump and vice presidential nominee Mike Pence brought up the issue.

“It will take some time to adjust”, Mook added, saying that Clinton has been “transparent”. The ethics agreement did not prohibit the foundation from taking foreign contributions. The former president revealed the decision at a recent staff meeting.

The announcement of the new restrictions appeared to be a response to an ongoing political headache for Hillary Clinton, who has faced months of damaging criticism of her State Department tenure amid controversies over her use of a private email server and allegations that foundation donors received special access.
