Meanwhile, @ammiemcevoy asked: “Is it just me or do you get the feeling of sibling rivalry?” before @BKiddow posted: “Awkward interview with Laura Trott’s sister who clearly wasn’t prepared and is jealous of her sister”.
He initially survived a scare when the race was paused as officials studied footage to determine if had had illegally overtaken the motorised Derny bike before it had left the track.
She said: “We love living in Macclesfield”.
He said: “I could watch Laura’s points race as relaxed as possible, although I missed the end because I went to the toilet”. I guess I’m exhausted. Dutch rider Matthijs Buchli took silver and Awang bronze.
Trott has three gold medals of her own having also done the double at the last Games.
In winning the multi-discipline, two-day event and beating American veteran Sarah Hammer by a massive 24-point margin, she matched her feat at London 2012 when her team pursuit and omnium titles made her the new golden girl of British cycling.
Trott already has one gold medal under her belt from Team GB’s pursuit victory earlier this week, and she won three of the six omnium events to get her second.
The competition’s most decorated athlete, swimmer Michael Phelps of the U.S., has continued to dominate the 2016 Games. “I’m proud to be part of the team’s Olympic success and doing my bit”.
” It is pretty mental (matching Sir Chris Hoy)”. I am so happy that it came together and can’t thank everyone at home that you don’t see enough. I would hate to think that we had half-committed and then it didn’t happen for us.
Jason Kenny claimed his third gold of Rio 2016, and his sixth in total, as he showed a cool head to win the men’s keirin at the Olympic Velodrome.
James is up against Elis Ligtlee of the Netherlands, who beat her to gold in the kierin, while Marchant faces twice world champion Kristina Voegel of Germany.

Trott was second behind Australian Annette Edmondson in the 500m time trial, completing her two flying laps in 35.253 seconds to open a gap of 12 points on Belgium’s Jolien d’Hoore.
