As veteran defensive tackle Kyle Williams noted, “We were a little surprised (at not playing) but the guys who were held out are experienced and get their work in and (Ryan) knows that”. “And then I think he’s a good, physical runner that squares runs off and does a nice job finishing falling forward”. They are used to evaluate talent depth, find the outstanding rookie, and for the starters to get a rhythm. The two players it will likely come down to is Zimmer (No. 63) and Edwards (No. 93), the two that have flashed the most ability through the summer.

With two seconds left in the second quarter, Dan Carpenter added his third field goal of the half, a 52 yarder, to pull the Bills to within 21-9 at halftime.

On the next drive after the defense forced the Bills into a three-and-out, Cousins and Jordan Reed joined forces for a 20-yard touchdown score for the athletic tight end.
